About Us

The North Hills Health Center has been part of the Denver health community for over 15 years now. The Center was founded on the belief that there was a severe misunderstanding of what is depression and how it affects people. There used to be an over-dependance on depressive medication and not on actually finding the source of the illness itself. Although depression medication is extremely effective in curbing the symptoms of depression, it does not have the ability to find the cause of depression. It is now understood that people are not born with depression, but it is an illness that can develop over time, or due to a traumatic experience. With therapy, we can help individuals identify and encounter these moments in a safe environment

Psychotherapy at the North Hills Health Center At the North Hills Health Center we specialize in psychotherapy for depression patients. We believe that empowering individuals to cope with depressive symptoms and eventually confront the possible cause of their depression is a healthy and low risk way to overcome depression. Depression is not an illness that you catch, but is caused by a biological change in your brain that causes a hormone imbalance. In many cases, this change is more than temporary and can be permanent. Anti depressant medication can only create the illusion of normality, but doesn't get at the heart of the matter. This being said, medication can be an important part of depression treatment due to the fact that it can stop the more severe symptoms of depression. But effective psychotherapy methods hold the key to truly overcoming your depression.

Our Staff

Our staff is comprised of mental health professionals that are dedicated to finding the source of your depression and helping you to overcome it. When we say that when you join the North Hills Health Center you are joining a community of doctors and patients, we truly mean just that. We make a point of getting to know our patients and helping them feel comfortable discussing their depression symptoms. For those that wish to take part in mediated depression group counseling sessions, we provide patients with the opportunity to commune with other depression patients. For those that took advantage of this opportunity, they have consistently reported that the ability to socialize and talk with others going through the same things was a key to their recovery.
